The laws governing fire risk have been tightened considerably. Under the Fire Safety order 2005 it is now a requirement that for a non-domestic building, a ‘responsible person’ (usually the owner, employer or occupier) must carry out a “suitable and sufficient” Fire Risk Assessment and implement a fire management plan.
